Team Heart, IEP’s latest clinical and community development team, did amazing work this past month. Our volunteer physicians, both American and Guatemalan, treated 717 patients, focusing on general medicine, gynecology, dermatology, dentistry, and optometry.
The community development team had a great week. They installed stoves and water filters in the homes of 32 families . This improved the health and quality of life for over 150 people.
The entire team was treated to a music and physical education demonstration by the children of el Molino school. The Heartfield family continued their support of the school music program by presenting the children with instruments including tambourines, guiros, trumpets and even a trombone.
All in all, a meaningful and productive trip. Thank you, Team Heart!
